Go Astros!

Jack went to his first of many Astro's game on Sunday. We went with my mom who was in town from Austin and Marks Dad John. We had tickets on the first row right by Hunter Pence. (I think he is Jack's favorite player) Jack was great through the whole game, and the astros won which was a bonus. Here are a couple Pictures John took at the game.

No more noisy breathing...

Jack has had a fun couple of days visiting all of his doctors. The results of his visits is that he will be having a small surgical procedure next Monday. The procedure will only last 45 minutes and afterwords he will no longer be struggling to breathe. Jack, Mark and I will spend the night at Texas Children s Hospital Monday night and Jack should be released first thing Tuesday. It is nothing to be worried about, although it is uncommon for babies to have the surgery our doctor performs it all the time.

When the nurse was going through the pre-surgical procedure I was a little concerned she was going to tell us no food or drink after midnight the day before ( I wasn't sure how I was going to let Jack know he couldn't eat) She told me that babies can eat up until 3 hours prior.

We will keep you posted on how he does...

Fun in the Sun

This past weekend the Mark, Jack and I went on a little get away. It was nice to be away from the house for a couple days, there wasn't anything to do but relax. Jack went for his first boat ride, the sound of the water and boat motor put him to sleep. He still hasn't figured out that it is not OK to be awake at midnight. Saturday he was awake all day and we thought for sure he would fall asleep as 7 or 8, no way he was up til 1:00am! Now that I am back to work and we all get moving at 6:00am to start our day, hopefully he will adjust his schedule to ours. On a good note he is sleeping for 4-6 hours straight once he goes to sleep. Cross your fingers that he continues to.

An update on his breathing, we went to the Pediatric ENT that he saw while in the hospital for a check-up. The doctor is still concerned and has not ruled out surgery yet. We are supposed to check back in 5 weeks and at that point, determine whether or not he will need the operation. If he decide that Jacks condition is serious enough to have the operation, it is a minor procedure that he will need to be put to sleep for. They go in through his mouth and cut out the extra folds that are in his throat. The doctor said the most of the symptoms would clear up instantly. His acid reflux will not go away overnight but it should improve dramatically.

We will let you know if anything changes. When I get home tonight I will post some pictures from our weekend away.

4 Days Left...

Just as we are starting to get somewhat of a routine, I am going back to work. Friday is my fist day back, I am excited and sad. Jack is doing very well, we have taken him off of his apnea moniter during the day while he is awake and only use it at night. I like this a lot better, JAck and I can now move around the house with ease and he can help me with laundry and cleaning the house. Jack is also starting to get my jokes, he smiles and laughs at me more and more everyday.
